about

Music for and from a journey. This set of songs loosely create cycles of narrative transformation woven with Brazilian 10 string violas, double bass and guimbre. Tales of different characters who venture in a cycle of journeys through distant lands and return forever changed. In this minimal and intimate setting, Alfredo and Thiago improvise around multiple concepts they share a love for. Maghreb music, Brazilian culture, free improvisation and more are mixed lightly in a live recording.

Instant composition was the method. Improvising freely and creating minimally structured songs in the studio. This is intended to create an urgency and creative tension that can only be achieved in such a setting.

Alfredo Bello (DJ Tudo) - Double bass track 1 and 3, Guimbre track 2

It is fair to describe Alfredo as one of the main cataloguers of musical and folklore traditions of Brazil (selomundomelhor.org). He plays basses, guimbre (Morrocan bass) and others. With the project "DJ Tudo e sua gente de todo lugar" he made 6 albuns and has played in 30 countries around the world mixing cultures. Playing as a musician and producer he played with Lee Scratch Perry, Naná Vasconcelos, Gilberto GIl, Mad Professor, Marku Ribas and many others projects.
