about

afinações, tocou bateria e as campanas do final do tema gravados
maiores artistas brasileiros, Sergio Ricardo e do marroquino Amine
revertermos a catastrofe no planeta Terra.

The Guimbre is a stringed instrument with a very percussive feel. It gave
me the idea for a piece where it plays alongside the berimbau - a unique
percussion instrument with one metal string that is struck with a small
stone. Simone Sou plays two berimbaus, tuned to different pitches, drums
and bells, recorded in Amsterdam. In Paris, Stephane added electric guitar
and Christina the spoken word section. Finally, in São Paulo, the horns
were recorded. I used voices from other songs from the album, and also
the voice of legendary Brazilian singer Sergio Ricardo, from an unreleased
and incomplete recording. Amine Kanze sings for the ancestral Fulani
people. The text addresses the urgency of connecting with all people and
their combined knowledge to reverse the catastrophe facing planet Earth.
