Sid Sma é o deus do elemento céu para os Gnawas, na religiosidade
Afro-brasileira há dois orixás, Xangô e Iansã, que são próximos
da energia do céu. Eu compus uma música para os dois orixás.
Aqui, mais uma vez, o encontro das tradições, tendo a zabumba
a conduzir, mais uma herança árabe no Brasil, guitarras oníricas e
os sopros com energia do free jazz nos levam mais ainda para a
energia do Sama (céu).

Sid Sma est le dieu de l’élément ciel pour Gnawas. Dans la religiosité
afro-brésiliennes ce sont deux orixás, Xango et Iansã, qui sont proches
de l’énergie du ciel. J’ai composé une chanson pour les deux divinités.
Ici, encore une fois je trouve des traditions, la zabumba à conduire, un
autre héritage arabe au Brésil, des guitares éléctriques oniriques et des
instruments à vent avec l’énergie du free jazz nous amènent plus loin
dans l’énergie de Sama (ciel).

Sid Sma is a deity who represents the sky in the Gnawa tradition. Afro-
Brazilian religions have two orixás, Xangô and Iansã who are closest to
the energy of the heavens. I wrote a piece for both orixás. Here, once
again bringing traditions together with the zabumba driving the track, an
instrument with an Arabic-Brazilian heritage, dreamlike guitars and horns
driving like free jazz, taking us into the energy of the heavens above.
